This program is to ensure that SCT company gets the maximum amount of exposure in a minimum amount of time in a low-risk way. It makes use of the fact that the modern world is perforated by social media and the vast majority of content creators (95-99%) do not get paid a significant or regular amount of money via their content. These content creators are more likely to agree to an arrangement where little or no lump sum is paid to them and all the money that they earn will be via commissions for each sale that they do.
The idea is, to reach out to some of these small content creators and tell them the offer and the conditions. The conditions are, that each small influencer has to encourage as many people to buy my products as possible. Each influencer will be given a personalized discount code which a customer that they refer can use to get a 10% discount on any of my products (except for blowgun darts as they do not have sufficient profit margin due to time taken in making them), and an influencer will be paid 40% of the marked selling price every time someone buys a product using their personalized discount codes. The discount codes are important in order to ensure that customers have an incentive to mention which influencer they heard about my company from to be able to track and reward the performance of each influencer with their deserved conditions immediately.
A few possible problems were foreseen and these are the measures I intend to take to prevent them. The first is customers trying to stack discount codes in order to get larger discounts. This will be prevented by simply not allowing the stacking of discount codes. Or by capping the amount of discount codes that can be stacked.
The second problem could be everyone trying to be an influencer in order to get the largest possible discounts. This problem has some measures against it. In order to get the 80-100% off that an influencer will get, the customer has to prove to me that they have a social media page and following that is both sufficient in size and where the audience is likely to be interested in my products. They will have to make at least 1 permanent post featuring my products that must be publicly visible to their entire following for at least 2 weeks, or they have to refer at least 3 non large discount paying customers to me to receive my products at 80% off. The influencer will need to already have my products to qualify for an influencer discount, you say, how is this fair? Well, three ways. Since I am located in an extremely thickly populated and relatively wealthy area, there will be a high density of influencers that I can physically visit to do collabs with. These people can use and demonstrate my products without buying them. There will also be social media, videos and blog pages that other influencers can share in order to help sell my products without buying them. Influencers can also buy a few of my products at full price, use them to help market me, and then use this to gain special discount status.
In other words, one must already have referred at least 3 customers to qualify for an influencer discount. I believe this discount should be 80% off when contract is active, and 50% off after contract expires.
A third problem would be conflict of interest with the influencers. The fact is, that in theory, I being the manufacturer of SCT products, will be able to offer the largest possible discounts and especially if and when I gain sufficient direct influence, I will be able to out compete all my other PRs in terms of pricing. This problem needs to be avoided. First of all, outsourcing the publicization of my company to others is a much faster way to gain initial exposure, and I understand this must be done with full commitment, but in the long run, my own channel and marketing will gain sufficient influence and it will be beneficial to not rely on large discounts and commissions for outside marketers. The solution to this problem is limited time contracts, in other words, each PRs discount code only works for a limited amount of time, before the validity expires. I believe 3 to 6 months would be a good amount of time to gain sufficient exposure if the PR is proficient at their work. It is also a decent amount of time for me to try to build up sufficient following of my own, before deciding which PRs if any should continue working for me. I don't believe in betraying the people that work with me. I would rather break them off then betray them, and this is no exception.
Another point to note, is that while I imagine that small scale content creators will be the main PRs that might work for me, Marketers of all experience, skill level and exposure are welcome to join this program, and the rules will be the same for everyone. It is thought, that for larger or more effective marketers, another rule should be set in place. That after they get me a certain number, maybe 50-100 sales, their discount code is retired.
